Blind Tiger and Pure Lindy

Arts-Barge-Great-Yorkshire-Swing1Arts Barge have been working in collaboration with York based Lindy Hop Dance Company – Pure Lindy to develop music specifically for Lindy Hop, produce events which introduce Lindy Hop swing dance and
Charleston to new audiences and offer talented young musicians an experience of ensemble playing for dance, with a professional band leader and rhythm section. Richard Ormrod (Rinkadon Jukeboy) is the band leader for The Blind Tiger Dance Band.

Events to date have been The Great Yorkshire Swing (Great Yorkshire Fringe 2016 and 2015), Hullzapoppin 2016, Speakeasy At The Boxing Club 2014,  York ‘flash-mob’ street performance and Galtres Festival workshops 2013.

We aim to offer Blind Tiger Workshops in 2016 for developing musicians. Outstanding musicians will be offered a place in the professional outfit of the same name for Lindy Hop conventions and other commercial markets.
