Arts Therapies
Arts Barge currently offers Art Therapy, Music Therapy, Dramatherapy and Dance Movement Therapy.
We are developing the Arts Barge CAT (Creative Arts Therapies) to deliver group and individual work by professionally registered Arts Therapists of all four modalities. We are part of the NEAT network (North Eastern Arts Therapies).
Our service is based at The Community Wellbeing Centre at Briar House: 14 Merchants Place, Merchantgate, York, YO1 9TU. When the Arts Barge is up and running The CAT will run Arts for Wellbeing sessions on the barge and also offer on outreach service into other contexts such as schools and organisations working with vulnerable and disadvantaged people in York.
We are an approved provider for Being Family – The Yorkshire and Humber Adoption Consortium.
We also offer Reflective Practice sessions facilitated by Arts Therapists for artists who work with vulnerable client groups.
Our therapists are experienced and registered with their relevant regulatory and professional bodies: HCPC, BAAT, BADTH, BAMT, ADMP and UKCP
