Arts Therapies

IMG_0472Arts Barge currently offers Art Therapy, Music Therapy, Dramatherapy and Dance Movement Therapy.

We are developing the Arts Barge CAT (Creative Arts Therapies) to deliver group and individual work by professionally registered Arts Therapists of all four modalities. We are part of the NEAT network (North Eastern Arts Therapies). Provision will be on the barge when it is up and running, but also as outreach work into other contexts such as schools and organisations working with vulnerable and disadvantaged people in York. The development phase is supported by Joseph Rowntree York Committee.

We are an approved provider for Being Family – The Yorkshire and Humber Adoption Consortium and are working with One Education to offer Arts Therapies in York schools.

We also offer Reflective Practice sessions facilitated by Arts Therapists for artists who work with vulnerable client groups.

Our therapists are all experienced, registered HCPC Arts Psychotherapists and are each additionally registered with their specific Professional bodies: BAAT, BADTH, BAMTADMP and UKCP

Our Therapists are

Hannah West: Art Psychotherapist

Samantha Stubbs: Art Psychotherapist

Dr. Allison Singer: Dramatherapist and Dance Movement Psychotherapist

Sarah Curnow: Music Therapist

Liz Pearce: Dramatherapist and Psychotherapist
