The Arts Barge Project has withdrawn its planning application for use of the Skeldergate Bridge landing on Terry Avenue as the site of its proposed floating community arts venue. The project had identified a prospective barge which proved unsuitable on survey and (given the fixed timescales involved in the planning process) decided that the application had become premature pending the identification of a more suitable barge. As with any such process, the application attracted a significant amount of support as well as a number of concerns which the project will be able to factor into future applications and we would like to thank everyone who took the time to write into the planning portal and offer their views of the proposal. Discussions with the council regarding alternative mooring positions are on-going. In the meantime it’s business as usual! The project continues to gather momentum and support and there’s lots happening.
