Thanks to co-director Hannah West, the Arts Barge Project has won a coveted place on the Yorkshire and Humber YVAN Cultural Entrepreneurship Programme for 2013.

Due to its business potential The Arts Barge Project achieved recognition through a rigorous selection process as one of six outstanding entrepreneurial arts business ventures for the Yorkshire and Humber region in 2013. The Cultural Entrepreneur Programme is funded by Arts Council England and delivered by Yorkshire Visual Arts Network, with support from the national Contemporary Art Society. The programme helps chosen projects to generate business activity that attracts revenue from external sources into the arts sector, strengthening the region’s arts market.

“Yorkshire and the Humber Visual Arts Network (YVAN) is delighted to have appointed the first cohort to its Cultural Entrepreneur Programme.  The six participants have been drawn from across the whole region and represent a wide range of backgrounds. The programme will help them to realise their ambitions to create new businesses or expand existing ones and in doing so, attract additional revenues into the cultural sector.”: Steve Manthorpe, YVAN Coordinator
